Gong Xi Ni = Bang you die?

Direct Translation Explanation
Gong Xi in Hokkien = Bang Die & Ni in Mandarin = You. Fa Chai in Mandarin = Turn Rich. So you tell me why is Chinese new year an auspicious day when everybody keep on saying Gong Xi Fa Chai? Doesnt it sound more like (Bang Die Turn Rich)? & the song:-

Gong Xi Gong Xi Gong Xi Ni Hey~ Gong Xi Gong Xi Gong Xi Ni are suppose to mean (Bang you bang you bang you die hey~ Bang you Bang you Bang you die~)

For non-mandarin speaker, they'll get the wrong idea but there is no Chinese that doesn't know what Gong Xi Fa Chai means because at this day, it means Ang Pow and gambling and drinking and visiting relatives & friends since the day we were born in a chinese community.

Chinese New Year basically is being celebrated for 15days. On the Chinese New Year Eve, there comes the Reunion Dinner where all the family will have a big meal! Considering on our family that seldom eat together this can be the only dinner we eat together for the rest of the year & i can say that it's an important dinner to us. This Year, we are having steamboat... i think it's the 1st & last steamboat reunion dinner we are eating now coz I have to be the kitchen helper to chop all the ingrediant with little help from my younger sister, Hotel look alike table setting with nice flower decoration and well organized cutlery and Ribbons on chair............ like a kampung wedding :P. I rather have daddy to buy everything readily cook!

A toast of Steamboat! hehehe
Here comes the 1st day of Chinese New Year where we all went to the tenple about 40 minutes from Kuching. it's call the Chin San Miaw. It's a very special temple on top of a hill in the middle of a Malay fishing village. The community that live there are all muslim & the buddhist population will travel to that area just for worshiping & also the seafood restaurant. here's some picture that day:-

After the temple, visitng ... visiting ... visiting .... take a short nap ... continue visiting ... visiting (visiting on CHinese New Year is the most tiring thing of the year)... and went to Miami for a good drink on the 1st day of Chinese New Year with Sherlee, Ina, Ambraah, Odno, Tuvshuu, Daskha, Mukhuur, and a lot more Mongolian friends. I also went to s e n s o with Ellen for awhile & relax a little as it's at my workplace and I feel more comfortable. At around 1.30am, I went back to Miami & I guess most of them drank hell lot & looked pretty high. Since I did not touch anything in s e n s o, I can still drink and make other people drink with me... hehehe I enjoyed doing that. At around 2.30am, we all retrieved to Siang Siang 3rd Mile for another round of drinking and supper. Got home at 5.00am & doozed of after a quick shower.

2nd day of Chinese New year is another busy day........ woke up at 9,30am complaining stomachache....... The shirt that I wore to sleep was too short & I guess having the aircond to shoot direct to my stomach, I have enough air to keep my stomach looking like a baloon! but it got better after a hot shower at 10.00am. Helped my mum with the cooking and it's 12.00noon. Called Ellen & we went visiting at 1.00pm to Calvin's house, Aaron's house & Akeiser's house. & there goes 3.00pm. We went to pick 4 big Mongolian friends to my house & Ina came woth Odno soon after that. We had a good time though. Ina sent them back & Ellen came to my house again with Crispin & the Gang. Then we went to Aldrian's house. At 7.00pm, i headed to the Mongolian's house for Mongolian New Year Dinner.

3rd day of Chinese New Year, went to Doreen's house. Fall sick due to restless days...............

4th day of Chinese New Year, went to the doctor & rest whole day at home sleeping...............

5th day of Chinese New Year...... Start to go to work & No more holiday -_-lll

Eventhough I went through restless night and sick over the holiday...... i really had a good time this year & I really hope that in another few years to come, I'll have days like these before everybody got married & have their own happy family life & it sux...........
