New Years Eve BBQ Pot Luck Party

First post of the year!

It has been more than 3 years since I moved here and have never invited anyone for any house warming or anything and have been traveling for most of the Chinese New Years..

Since I'm in the mood and the home is quite empty (Only me and The Papa), I've invited some close friends and relatives for a BBQ pot luck party on... 31st December 2010.

First Great Help

The first crowd who came were Chiao Fang, Angela and the kids. Dad was very amazed with how talkative they are.. I am sure my niece will be like that in a few years. hehe the two gurls helped me with setting up the tables and washing the glasses etc.

Second Great Help

The second crowd was Ellen and the hubby Justin. They helped me to prepare the BBQ area as well as 'Penggang' the lamb, chicken wing and luncheon meat. Yuhuu!

Third Great Help

The few other people who had also been helping were Onga Ko, Nelson, Siew Phing & Fung Fung with some clearing and dish washing.

Without all these people, I would have been dead after the first hour... So  lucky and very grateful to have helpful, caring and bubbly friends and relatives.... It's always nice to have a simple gathering like this and dad was very happy with the kids around. Overall, everyone was happy I guess but so sorry to those whom I can't entertained enough and thanks for coming! Here's some of the photos taken: -

On first day of December

On first day of December, it's World's AIDS day... all my colleagues were wearing red ribbon including myself...

On first day of December, it's also the Annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony and all my colleagues were there to witness the jolly event... I on the other hand was asked to do an impromptu welcome note and it went alright i guess since most of the people that came were either hotel guests, my colleagues, the invited guests from charitable homes, my friends and my FB friends included..he he he... all the lovely people..

This event is not only about lighting but there's a whole month of chances for you to do good deeds and do a little to help the needy ones... for more info, log on to Pullman Kuching's blog... ya you didn't read wrongly... I repeat.. Pullman Kuching's blog at www.pullmankuchinghotel.blogspot.com

29th November…

Why do I have the feeling that this is going to be the day I torture myself again when I’m in KL… But this year I haven’t party hard and I really miss it! Ok no shit… no matter what, I got to go to these 2 events.

First one of course la Steven and Coconut Treez’s gig

Reggae band
Steven & Coconut Treez have been channelling their groovy sounds from Indonesia to the world since they formed. Their first album The Other Side shifted 500,000 units in Indonesia alone–a formidable feat for such a niche genre. Their song 'Welcome To My Paradise' hit the global wall of sound, bombarding over 60 countries and earning them success with shows in Japan and Papua New Guinea.

Needless to say, Steven & Coconut Treez are one of the iconic reggae bands of the 21st Century. And thanks to event organiser Mosic Works, the band are finally coming to Malaysia to perform a gig with ten other local music acts!

The gig happens on Saturday 29 November at Cap Square in KL city with Steven & Coconut Treez supported by local bands Bittersweet, Republic of Brickfields, Redemption and Plague of Happiness.

There will be freebies for the first 500 early birds and a variety of booths selling wares too, so come for the chilled out fun.

In celebration of the successful Levi’s® 501® Live Unbuttoned campaign in Malaysia, Levi’s® Brand will be hosting an exclusive Bash Party coming 29th November 2008 at the exquisite Tower Terrace in KL Tower. The event will feature a broad range of contemporary music by local and regional artistes from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Riding on the definitive spirit behind the iconic Levi’s® 501® Jeans - unrestrained, self-expressive and free-spirited, the event will bring together on one stage, exciting and mind-blowing performances by award-winning artistes such as Estranged, Deja Voodoo Spells, MC Syze, Joe Flizzow (Malaysia), DJ T-Bone, Zul Mystroe, Richard J (Singapore), SLEEQ (Singapore) and DJ Cream (Indonesia).

Leading up to the anticipated Big Bash, Levi’s® Brand has organized a series of road shows throughout the country, which kick-started since 24th October 2008. The road shows began from North right down to the South region of the peninsular, starting from Penang, followed by Melaka, Kuantan and Johor Bharu. During the road shows, fans of popular local band, Estranged, Deja Voodoo Spells and solo artists, Ash Nair were able to meet and mingle with their favorite local stars, enjoyed their performances and danced to the eclectic mixes from guest DJs.

Gear up and get ready for a real feast of music at the Levi’s® 501® Big Bash Party. Purchase a pair of New Levi’s® 501® Jeans and you will receive two complimentary tickets. Alternately, you can purchase the tickets, priced at RM35 from any Axcess Ticket outlets in the Klang Valley. For online booking, log on to http://www.axcess.com.my/. Remember to check out http://www.levi.com.my/ for more information with regards to the Levi’s® 501® Bash Party.

So, hurry up and get your tickets now! It’s time to get the party started!

KUCHING BBOYSSSSSS - Childishnya...

I seldom reply people's comment no matter how bad it is coz when you upload a video in youtube, you are suppose to be OPEN to people's opinion. But i seriously hate other people mocking my friends especially when it is ridiculous and unrelevant. Here's the pasted out comment for your pleasure.

And if you want to have fun reading more or leave another funny funny comment, fee free to visit the video here

HARDSTYLE REPUBLIC COMING TO KUCHING!

Apekwhuut and Musher will be spinning in the coming MASS CORROSION II. Details are as shown in the flyer. I will re-post the whole detail on this event on a separate post because it is special to me & to Tribezone. NOw i have just done the black and white version so i can go spread it around in any Melbourne Shufflers' events including competitions, meet up, performance, kenduri and whatever it takes to inform everyone the good news. Which shuffler doesn't know who ApeKwhuuT is? If they really don't know... it's such a sad scene.

Well for the event tickets, it will be out by September 1 which is Sunday and to change the Kuching's tradition which is usually don't care about advance tickets or door sales coz they know it will not run out, we have come out with a better packages. So try to be early coz we are estimating how many people will be coming because if it is massive, we will consider changing it to a BIGGER VENUE. So please make your life and our work easier coz if you all ocme last minutes and it is too cramp for shuffling, there is nobody to be blamed but diri sendiri. We know Kuchingites don't mind kan? hehehe

.:The Flyer to give away at Unite Fest later =P:.

Mass Corrosion II is actually at the 2nd year. Last year, we did Mass Corrosion I with the BASS AGENTS.. and I bet that time, many doesn't know Bass Agents yet. With the education everyone passed on, it actually changed Kuching alot. =) About MASS CORROSION I

Wei! Go To Kuching Festival on 4th August 08!

There are two main reasons why you should go to Kuching Festival on 4th August 2008 besides eating.

One - Coz’ Aliciaks is going! Do say Hi and emm…. This time I want to have few Taiwanese Sausages ‘Pork’ with lotsa chilli please. Don’t forget ah… or fried-ice cream can do also la..

Two - Lucille and United Kids of Oi will be starring the show from 9pm – 11pm!

These musicians are cool and friendly. They are so much fun not from 1st impression but after you know them, you will finally realize that you should not judge the book by it’s cover. Their fashion and images might scare people away. But not if you choose to understand them and you’ll find out that YOU ARE WRONG coz they are not posers or as dangerous as how they look... It’s just their way of dressing up to express themselves.

First Hero - Lucille

Lucille has their own blog although their music is not my cup of tea.. I keep complaining that the Vocalist’s voice is very very blurr and I cannot catch what he is singing… but I guess that’s his style coz eventually he got a lot of Kuchingites that love his songs…and some even named them Malaysia’s Radiohead XD Anyway, you can hear them LIVE on this Monday though coz when I don’t fancy it, doesn’t mean that you won’t fancy it too. Everybody have their own taste and flava and everybody believes in different thing.

Something like Ellen believes that she’ll have another beer but I believe that I need plenty more. Ask me personally if you still don’t understand what I mean ok!

Here’s some information you can dig it up for Lucille.

Final Hero – United Kids of Oi!

United Kids of Oi! has been in the scene since 2000 but I have only found them out 8 years after that… It’s the timing thingy I guess… 8 years ago the timing wasn’t right and 8 years ago I was in Form 5 still a naïve and innocent school gurl.. hahaha

Anyway, they are good and with 8 years of experience, this is the year they have go very very active… almost the year of glory I presume since I am a person who loves to assume most of the times.

But anyway, I like this band. It is a band with many outstanding attitudes. No.2 outstanding is a friendly skinhead vocalist, No. 1 outstanding is an insane bassist with a Mohawk followed by a clean-cut drummer, a cool and quiet lead guitarist and a simple and humble 2nd guitarist that didn’t bother to chase me away when I did my ‘aliciaks post’ few inches away next to his fingerboard during Kawan Tour XD

.:Insane Bassist:.

Here’s some information you can dig it up for United Kids Of Oi!

United Kids Of Oi! Myspace : http://myspace.com/unitedkidsofoi

If you are wondering when is Melbourne Shuffle’s performance this year, I would like to announce that I have happily give the slot to both Lucille and United Kids of Oi until the Melbourne Shufflers in Kuching learn how to appreciate others and unite by themselves. I have been so busy with the studio and healing of my ankle that I do not have time to put any stress to my brain to arrange everything. It just doesn’t work this way.

Maybe next year, when everything goes better with few buddies of mine who are off from exams and hectic life, we will proceed with the show once again.

PS : I curi gambar from Lucille's site coz they look very nice... hehehe

Where To Go This Weekend - Part Three

This Saturday, go to Waterfront =)

.:Link to the article *click* waterfront event info on this *click*:.

Suprisingly in the government or semi government event like this, comes Melbourne Shuffle competition at 5pm-6pm on Saturday evening and I am invited to judge the compy. Although the time is quite short, I do hope that they will give me some chance to say a few words. Some constructive and positive comments to the groups that joined (whoever they are)... I don't know much about the competition as I am not the organiser.

Anyway, I am really honoured to be the 1st one in mind for an event like this... Not just any Dick and Harry competition.. but a competition that involved the Gerak Usahawan that reveals not only the public starts to accept Melbourne Shuffle but also the enterpreneurs.... muehehehe

Come la... and do say hi.. again if you wanna buy me a Chicken Kebab.. I am glad to eat it while I judge.. coz I can't judge properly if I am hungry right??? hahaha...

Where to go this Weekend - Part One

There are few places where you can go this weekend. Either to the movie watching any day on Friday, Saturday & Sunday night at Amphiteather for Star Movie Carnival (will blog as Part Two) or an interesting MUST SEE gig in Miami on Sunday afternoon from 3pm onwards. That’s because it’s where I will be… hahaha

Today I am going tell you more about the Sunday’s MUST SEE gig before you close this window and never find out that it is a Tour gig by 2 great bands from Singapore & JB called The Full Pledge Munkees and Plague of Happiness along with the local bands that are really good… Bands that refuse to join competitions, bands that play because of passion and not fame, bands that can make your head and body moves, bands that is not accepted by the local public, bands that is narrowly seen as if it is something bad… Welcome to Kuching?

Anyway, Belum try belum tau kan? I went to their Pre-Kawan Tour last Sunday and had a great time =) Here's a preview post by ilovekuching on last Sunday's Pre-Kawan Tour. Kojack appareantly named me Ms Predator and now I simpan dendam and don't wanna blog about it... lolx joking... actually I was too busy drinking although all the people are mostly drinking their free soft drinks =) gave ours to Hafiyy and Sabree coz a soft drink in a pub at night... Ridiculous! hehehe

Every Party tells a story. But Mine Tells Some~~~

The Rainforest World Music Festival this year, is not so bad although the groups performing last night were quite boring told u I can’t accept WORLD music dy… except for the last group that hit all the reggae songs which I had lotsa fun trying to skank in a muddy field with Mr Underground who was featured in my past blog post and it’s very nice of him to apologize in the comment box and in person. Some how masih tak boleh dimaafkan coz he lost my slipper that is packed beautifully in a black plastic bag which he safe-kept it... Not so safe after all eh..

.:Saipul:.

.:The Buried Legs:.

Lol… 1st thing I lost my slipper and we went to have project ‘Cari Harta Karun' in the mud after the event before we proceed to Damai Beach to chill out... kira tebus dosa la...… This is the best we can find.

2nd thing half way through while we were dancing in the middle of the crowd, came a guy whoever it is, well he’s quite cute =) only thing is we were emm.. about to Kungfu or Taichi or whatever it is in the muddy field… coz he’s showing some Kungfu Panda’s poses then… (i swear i didnt even touched him) suddenly I saw blood running down from his nose =__=’’’ Actually was laughing and laughing due to alcohol. The same way I laughed at Jenny Pisang Goreng when she’s topless… XD Hey man, I didn’t mean to laugh at you if you are reading this blog.. I was just on an Intoxicated Happy Mode.. Saipul was saying... Kedak Cerita Shin Chan.. hidung berdarah indah... lolx

.:He's the man:.

.:Bleeding nose rescue 'Sherlee thought I hit him by accident -________-''':.

3rd thing…

The toilet was full…

So I used the men’s toilet….

No big deal bah.. I owes do… LOL

Here’s some people I met at the Rainfest.

.:Rocking Joseph:.

And after that we went for supper at Home Cook Padungan before we all went home safely at 4.30am… I had a great time last nite and it would be so much better if it was a Rave instead of the cultural thing…Without Heineken to distract the people from falling asleep....
