Carrefour Plastic Bag

Honestly, I'm curious to find out if anyone knows what does biogredable actually means... I've never read or heard such word until today when I went shopping and they've put the stuff in the plastic bags even before I get to say 'No need plastic'...

I tried to google and went to dictionary.com and those sites were quite helpless. If it's a typo error that Carrefour Malaysia has made. I'm very surprised. O_o

Aliciaks to the Rescue!

I've always wanted to save sad dogs in the street but at the same time I'm scared to touch them especially if they are big dogs. Another problem is, how am I going to bring the dog back and who do I give them away to? 

After all I'm not living in an animal shelter and I'm not even active and have never visited the SSPCA in Kuching yet... I just feel sad to see unhappy dogs that are in bad condition and I have always wanted to "Do Something!" but didn't have the courage to do so because I'm afraid to see anything suffering. I'll have trauma...

Today, it's my first attempt to rescue a puppy with his body full of skin disease. Of course I dragged my sister who is in town now. Muahaha I don't know what's the condition now but will send him to the vet tomorrow for treatment.

For now, I'm also trying to find a suitable owner who wants a new male puppy. :)

Power Nap

I can take my 10 - 15 minutes power nap anytime anywhere especially on a hot afternoon during lunch hour including drooling on the box.. hehehe my neck hurts like hell continuously for 3 days! For me, it helps a lot to refresh myself.

New Books

I've bought some books in a great deal from Book Xcess at Amcorp Mall, Petaling Jaya. All the books are RM17.90 and below and a hard cover travel sketch book is just RM9.95! As I am trying to do something more useful than harassing my own facebook page, I now do have some readings to do for at least another 2 months :D

Ping will kill me for this.. There happened to be a toad in the toilet and due to some bad experience during childhood, i.e stepping on a toad barefoot, it's like a phobia when she sees one. So there she is standing on top of the toilet bowl and crying.. Muahahahha

Oppss I did it again...

I kept bitting my own lips whenever i eat and it seems to be happening once a month now since December. In Kuching, many believe that whenever you bit your lips while chewing the food, someone is gossiping about you. Maybe there are people talking about me behind my back all the time!

I do not have the photo of January's lip sore but both December and January were lower right lip and tonight i bit my lower left lip.. Apparently, i softly bit my lower right lip this morning... It could be the unbalance bone structure of my lower jaw that is causing it...

Egret

The first time I've seen an egret in the drain was about 10 years ago. That time, my family was staying in Jalan Stampin. I still remember being so fascinated to see it as it reminds me of my aunt, 'Ongako' whom's chinese name is related to the egret and I kept teasing her everytime I see egrets since.

The sad truth is that seeing egret in the drain or in the street is not a good sign. It shows that the bird that is suppose to live with the nature has now moved to the urban city and there must be reasons for it. I've been seeing plenty of egrets in the street these days on my way to work. Hopefully, their population is not going extinct.

Thai Food Crave

Since my last Thailand trip in October 2011, I've always wanted to make my own Thai style pork rinds 'Kaeb Moo' as comparing to the ones I had here which is so hard it might break my tooth. The pork rinds in Kuching are made as one of the ingredient for soup and the one in Thailand is made as snacks. It has a the super crunchy texture and at the same time it's not too oily after being deep fried and drained properly.

I made some research through youtube.com and found out that it's also a popular snack in the Philipines. They are called with different names. The video shown below is basically what I did but i added in some 5 spices powder, salt, pepper and chilli powder to add a twist of spiciness to it.

I am quite happy with the result and everyone who ate it were also happy coz Pork is the happiest meat of all. Everytime anyone mentioning Pork, the rest will put a big smile on their face with their eyes glowing. Perhaps this is a muslim country customary where they are eating places that do not sell pork and even work places that do not allow their staffs to bring Pork into the premises in respect to the muslims.

It's an evident of a natural human behaviour. The more you control them in something, the more they are excited to do it. Who knows... we might not love Pork that much and treat it equal to other meat if Pork is everywhere in everyshop. We'll never know...

2nd novel of the year...

During my trip to Bario on 29 March 2011, I noticed 2 people were reading the same novel called The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest. The two people that were reading the novel were a Kelabit lady and another Swedish lady if not mistaken. 

Well, since according to available statistics, the population in Bario is of almost 1,000 people and 2 of them were reading the novel, it must be something good. It interest me to find out more about the book and why is it so special. I found the novel when I was going to Bali in LCCT (which was a continuos schedule after the highland trip) and bought it straight away even before I googled it.

I read random novels which are on recommended shelfs in bookstore or brought back by my siblings including Harry Potter and by writers I know such as John Grisham, Dean Koontz and Danielle Steel. I don't really have a single friend who read like crazy that will actually introduce good novels to me or even passionately conversing about books or writers. ZERO to be exact. I pickup reading when my sister's friend left a box of novels at our home when he left to his hometown. Even until now, I've not read more than 30 novels but am trying to add in the reading habit into my lifestyle instead of sitting in front of the computer and by the time in bed, i only managed to read 1 or 2 lines before I fall asleep...

Oh well, after some online research, I found out that The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest is actually the third book by Stieg Larsson and published posthumously after his death by heart-attack in 2004. This book is also preceded by The Girl Who Played With Fire. 

In Sweden, they even made movies out of his book and the poster of the latest one is shown below.

The Brand New Car - 2011

I've always love Peugeot and with the new Peugeot 207 sedan which is Malaysia assembled, the price is slightly lower than some of the over-priced and over-popular car in the country...  I have always never been the 'follow the crowd' type of person and this car is not as overloaded in the street as Malaysian Made car or some of the IN Japanese brand on the road. But people are concerning about the spare parts and maintenance cost... For me, it's all about LUCK when you buy anything at all even when it come to house, computer, hand phone etc...

Oh well, it's just a plan to look ahead to accomplish my next year's resolution No.2 which is To get a Brand New Car. Looking at beginning of April... but it doesn't mean that I won't change my mind coz I am a woman after all! he he he

Ma Room... with new sleeping auras

As posted in my previous post, I have been working on my room project 101. I started having the thoughts of wanting to repaint the room or put on wall paper since 2 years ago but have been quite broke and can’t find inspiration of how I really want the room to be…

Anyway, the painting was quite boring coz I’m doing it alone but as usual... the art has no boundary…

Why pink? I don’t know…. It’s my latest favourite colour I guess… I’ve been sticking with black, white and purple since forever and it has changed recently to magenta and pink after I painted my apartment 2 years ago coz it’s sweet, soft and sexy like the beautiful cherry blossom. I feel calm with these colour tones. It's how people change from time to time without knowing it… High influence from our surrounding.

Why speding on my room and not a new lap top or digital cam or anything more useful? I do feel that the room is priority coz it's where I rest and to sleep in a room you like, it brighten up your day, sleeps well and you feel good about yourself. It's a whole new feel :) and besides, people can present me a lap top or digital camera but not painting labour or even sticking wallpaper right? he he he

What's on last Sunday...

It took me 15 minutes over lunch to recall what I did last Sunday...

Finally i realized it was a short dramatic Sunday as I woke up early to be dissapointed 'rain means no swimming session' and back to bed until 11.30am before lunch and to the hotel...

Got back at 4pm and ended up watching 'Losers' with dad at home before I bath 3 dogs. William, Iwan and a yellow female dog which belongs to a neighbour, just because she owes hang out 'lepak' at my house...

By then it's late and I was too tired to do anything before I went out with Mr Chee for dinner at After 4... The Siew Mai was raw... yurksss...

First Magazine Appearance

It wasn't my idea but I kinda like it. buahahaha I suggested someone else but it came back to me... Well, since it's considered as an opportunity, I just grabbed it then.

People has been calling and telling me about seeing my face in Jetstar Asia Magazine. I knew about the feature but doesn't have the magazine itself. Nevermind, will grab it from the office during my trip to Singapore later. The first appearance in Magazine is something I should keep although it's not on the cover! ha ha ha

It was an introduction for Kuching and I am proud to be a Sarawakian.

Busy month...

This is a busy month.

To all my friends that I can't spare time with... sorry next time ya.

To my colleagues i put a lot of pressures on... take it as your wedding day or something... it can't be avoided

To my family that I've been pushing responsibility to... you deserved it for leaving me & parents in Kuching whereby you go find your dreams somewhere else

.........so much things to do in so little time... sounds like a work for bunch of superheroes............
