Melbourne Shufflers Meetup Today!!!

I've been so so busy untill.... I forgot to post in this important event in my blog. Here goes... SEE YOU GUYS TONIGHT and thanks for Nick's car sound system... if anyone is so kind, please contribute him RM0.50 per person for his petrol.. hahaha XD

Review Kuching's Melbourne Shuffle Meetup IV

I finally received the photos from Azlan who's currently finishing his final year Twintech College Sarawak project and he has choose Melbourne Shuffle as his final year project. Wow... it's an honor to have people who has so much passion on Melbourne Shuffling. *Pad on the back*

The plan was to start at 7pm and Sherlee, Nelso & I reached earlier at 6.30pm to buy dinner and drinks at Kuching Festival before the Meetup started. at about 6.50pm, the electricity went out and so we walked quickly to our meetup point and ate our dinner while waiting for the rest. Apparently, i received a lot of smses that the whole Sarawak went blackout and traffic jam was terrible. But the meetup went on coz our oldskool boom box worked on batteries anyway.

Kuching being the famous laid back city, some people started to show up at 7.30pm and by 8.00pm it was just nice with many groups turned up but it was quite dramatic of how the groups either came early and left early or came late and left late.

Whatever it is, Shuffle Meetup are with purposes.. What are the purposes? Well, it's to keep Melbourne Shuffle Healthy and educate the younger generation to keep it on the right path coz it's the scene that build the dance.. not the dance that build the scene. But without a community that dance, there isn't any scene. So the DANCE and the SCENE are both important. You have to keep the dance healthy if you want to keep the scene alive. It is not an easy task to keep it alive and right... but no harm trying people.. You just got to believe it.

Best part is Clement my reggae mate showed up with his almost matured big dread and we compared our hair... Mine are small dreads and his are big dreads... you may happily spot the difference now!

Note : By the way, i received an sms later that night about there's a great gig in UiTM on the same night. Kuching's Melbourne Shuffle Meetup IV

After a 3 weeks rest from Melbourne Shuffling, it's time to start shaking off some fat again. Only happens if the weather permitting and a small boombox coz I love old skool!

The flyer is sending the message that it is really an unplanned plan to have the meetup. Therefore, your present will decide the success of Kuching's Melbourne Shuffle Meetup. Without you guys, there isn't any Melbourne Shuffle Community in Kuching. For those that stays Someway over the river.. sorry la jauh sikit. Di mana ada kemahuan, di situ ada jalan kan? Coz Kuching Festival only happens once a year. If you use Tol, it is actually very near =)

Postponed MeeTuP

Now it has been rescheduled to this Sunday due to the raining evening on previous date... Blame it on the weather....

When I look into the mirror.. Wow my complexion is different. I am 5% tanner than yesterday! Yeah… a little success is another motivation to be even more tanned. =) And my dread lock project is now 70% completed. Speaking of dread lock. I found out that there’s natural method to get it done besides using the wax thanks to Clement and actually wax is not recommended by a lot of people. Find more about it at www.dreadlocktruth.com.

Feel more reggae then before. Actually it feels great! So if you want to know my mood… It’s FANTASTIC. Even though money is still not enough and still looking or waiting for Mr Right or whatever you call it, at least I feel great about myself and doing what I love most. Achieving my dream hair since 10 years ago?

Alright, enough with my hair. Gna talk about the Global Shuffle. One word.. SUCCESS! Eventhough not much of shuffling instead a lot of ppl just go there wondering around, jogging attempt and playing with dried leaves, it’s the support to come to the meet up that counts. GLOBaL Shuffle MEetUp~~

There's always another reason to meetup! ^ ^ but yeah this is actually something big but not as big as the USA. They have the whole parade for this and we are not even supported by any government department or dance & sport association. =P

So if you think you can shuffle and want to be part of GLOBAL SHUFFLE phenomenon, please be there. And bring your boombox if you have any too! XD

This is the long forgotten or hidden video of the very 1st outdoor park shuffle organized and posted up by Vicky. During those days, Tribezone has not even existed and was the best day of shuffling scene when everyone was working hard trying to MASTER the basics instead of starting with Stomping that will cause knee injury if not doing it right.

90% of the people in the video work together hand to hand and brought up Tribezone namely :-

The Meet up~~

There were 80 shufflers registered for the meet up. For the very 1st one, it was really short because everyone is so reserved and ain’t mixing around much and some was just waiting for the 30 minutes shuffling session. Lol

Anyway, the main idea was to build a better relationship amongst Kuching’s Shufflers and to unite everyone as Kuchingites. It was pretty fun shuffling together after that though.
