Satisfying Brunch at Pasar Baru Bukit Bintang

Since Ah Ing & I was staying in Cube Hotel along Jalan Pudu, we did a last minutes work googling places to eat around Bukit Bintang & Jalan Pudu last night coz we didn't want to ended up in touristy food outlets. We looking for something local, and traditional. The older the place is, the better. Found a few blogs on Pasar Baru Bukit Bintang. This This This This This & many more.... It was convincing enough...

Pasar Baru Bukit Bintang is a wet market with hawker stalls that are famous among the local in the heart of KL. The reason why it is located at Jalan Melati in Imbi Area but is known as Pasar Baru Bukit Bintang is because previously this wet market was located near Lot 10. Some of the famous food here are the Hainan Tea, Hainan Toast, Egg Tart, Apam Balik, Sisters Crispy Popiah, porridge and so many other varieties. We hop on a taxi from Jalan Pudu that only costs RM3.40 to go to the Market & found our way on foot (15 minutes) to Sungei Wang after a satifying brunch. Really a Lucky Sunday!

Some photos to seduce & harras your appetite... haha

The FOOD & DRINK
.:Apam Balik. This one taste a little like Kueh Sepit coz it's very thin & not as juicy & buttery inside. RM2 for 4pcs. 3/5:.
.:Sisters Crispy Pohpiah. 4/5:.
.:Ah Weng Koh Hainan Tea RM2 & Toasts RM1.80. 5/5 with no argument:.
.:Soupy Wantan Mee that taste like Sarawak's Soupy Kolo Mee & less oily too! RM5.00 per bowl. 5/5:.

.:Ing's Fish Kueh Tiaw. RM5.00 it taste like fish porridge but it's Kueh Tiaw. Not my choice though. 2/5 but Ing said it taste ok for her:.
.:Egg Tart. Must be very good but we didn't try coz we were bloated with too much food!:.
A Glance of Where the Stalls are Located

.:This is the entrance to the wet market:.

.:At the entrance, there's a mobile soya bean product lorry and some other mobile stalls too:.
.:This is the market part:.
.:This is where the Sisters Crispy Popiah Stall is:.
.:We didn't try the Yong Tau Hu but it's just to show the varieties:.
.:Ah Weng Koh Hainan Tea... They are the boss for the drinks there:.

.:The egg tart shop is few shops away from Ah Weng Koh:.
The People who Enjoyed the Brunch...

.:Munching on the Apam Balik, counting money & at the same time wanted to eat the noodle:.

.:Finishing the noodle!:.
.:Ing Happy with her food:.
.:(Candid shot by Ing) After the satisfying over-eating brunch session with Ing, strolled to Sungei Wang and complaint my stomach bloated:.
We didn't get to try the egg tart and the Pork Leg Noodle coz we were too full and for two persons to eat everything in one morning is ridiculous. One thing for sure was Ah Weng Koh's uncle waiter complaint the two of us eat too much when we ordered another toast. We felt he's just annoyed coz we hogged the table and many were standing & waited for us to finish our food. hehehe. It is also advisable to go early if you do not want to dine under the heat of colourful big umbrellas.

Definitely, we'll be going back there if I have some free time in KL again...
