Before we went to ma mum's village today, we drove to Serikin since it's only 5 minutes drive away from the village. However, it ended up to be a 30 minutes drive from the village due to heavy traffic... Anyway, Serikin is about an hour drive from Kuching and is a market right at the Indonesia border. Vendors from Kuching & Kalimantan will open their stalls selling all short of things such as clothing, imitation handbags, wallet, rottan chairs, floor mate, household, cutleries, curtains, locally made potato chips, banana chips, tapioca chips, drinks, handicraft from Indonesia, fruits, wild vegetables and also Sea Turtle egg which is illegal & sad.
A lot of tourist and the Kuchingites love to go to Serikin during weekends or public holidays due to the prices are reasonable and it's great for city folks to go to the border for a shopping trip..... I also am not missing the shopping part & bought a dress and a cap. lolz.
The weather was hot... and so are we. We are all HOT as usual... lolz
